Too lazy to write a boring post about real life, so here is a not-so-comprehensive list of things that I'm using to fill the void my faily hockey team left behind:

• Community - I just discovered this show, and I CANNOT STOP WATCHING IT. It's so funny and well-done that I may have to actually make an effort to watch and/or TiVo it come Fall. Here is an example scene of my three favorite characters.EDIT: Have to link this one too. Makes me laugh every time. xD


• Sherlock(BBC) - Okay, I actually saw this series a while ago, but it's so good. I love Sherlock Holmes, and this is my favorite adaptation ever. Really brilliant and well-acted, and the fandom is great. Even the actors and producers recognize that they're telling "the gayest story in history" and love their fans. It's great.


• Job hunt - Still happening, still going nowehere. Let's not talk about this. xD


• My friends - It seems like I've been seeing a lot more of people I'd been missing before, AND one of my good friends is returning to the States in about a month. :D My friends are awesome. Also related to this...


• Travel - Going to the beach with some of my favorite people on Thursday! SO EXCITED! I haven't been to the beach since I was 16, and I get to see some faces I've been missing. Also have the possibility of a few summer trips, and the definite trip to Orlando w/ kueble in September. Aces.


• Writing & drawing - Not in full-swing, but I'm starting to get my creative mojo back. :D Maybe I'll do a drabble or sketch meme soon. Just need to find a good one.

Anyway, that's my list of fun stuff (with one unfun bullet). Life is good, more or less. :) Hope you all are doing well!

Getting ready for bed, I was fingering my tattoo (a new nervous habit. Obviously I wasn't neurotic enough before) and noticed it's raised. That's definitely not normal. Looked it up, and apparently that can happen when a person is hot and/or stressed out.

Edit: I hate my brain. When I NEED it it runs like a rusty old tractor, but when I'm lying awake at night it zooms all over the place like a rabbit on crack.

Got all the games I predicted (never got around to doing the WC) in round 1 correct. o.O Weird. It's like an alternate universe where I'm good at this. So lets try again!

• Washington vs. Tampa Bay - AGAIN the team I wanted least. This is going to be a big shift from the offensively-challenged Rangers, and it's not going to be easy. Still, if the stars can come through for the Caps, Washington in 6


• Philadelphia vs. Boston - This is going to be rough, isn't it? Neither team played as well as they could have in round 1, but the return of Pronger and lack of a Bruin's PP forces me to pick Philadelphia in 7. Thomas is the man w/ the Bruin's chances in his pocket, though.


• Vancouver vs. Nashville - Another series riding on a goaltender. It's all up to Bobby Lu... and I don't trust him. Could be way off, but Nashville in 7.


• Detroit vs. San Jose - This was the easiest pick for me (which probably means I'm totally wrong), but if San Jose thinks they're going to get away with going down goals and starting slow like they did against LA, Detroit is going to smother them. Detroit in 6.

Also, I was in a shit mood earlier and decided to revert to my teenage coping mechanism: drawing stupid shit. So, RAINBOW NICKY! XD

IDK why either, guys.

Well that was stressful. xD As per my playoff pact, I'm painting my nails glitter purple tomorrow. Glitter for Sasha goals, baby! Can't wait to go to game 2 with the always fabulous fedzgurl91 Friday too, though hopefully it's marginally less heart attack-inducing.

So much I could talk about here, but I'm not up to higher brain function ATM. Suffice to say, I'm doing pretty well and no more body parts have died since my last post. What I came here to post is this:

• Washington vs. New York - Not the match-up I wanted, but a little less scary than it was a week ago. I have no doubts Hank could steal this out from under us, but I am an eternal optimist, so... Washington in 7


• Philadelphia vs. Buffalo - Much like Hank, this series rides on Miller (and Bob as well). In the end, though, I have to take Philadelphia in 6 because of playoff experience. Hope otherwise, though.


• Boston vs. Montreal - If you aren’t excited about this, you hate hockey. Hide you cop cars, ‘cause I'm calling Boston in 7.


• Pittsburgh vs. Tampa Bay - I love this matchup. Lots of good players, close team... should be good. Hard to pick here, but I’m taking Tampa in 6. If Sid comes back, though, I may revise this. ;)

I'll get the West when it's sorted out. I tend to be pretty terrible at this, though, and I don't know the West nearly as well. Could be fun.

In other news, the weather and my hormones are making me crazy. xD I just don't do well when the sun doesn't come out for days on end, and I've been spending a lot of time in doctors offices and whatnot which doesn't help. It's just been a strange week. I'm sort of just ready for it to be over.

On the bright side, the Caps have been a lot less soul-crushing as of late, so that's good. xD And I'm also starting to write again, just a little at a time. I'm hoping it catches and I get going again for real here soon. I miss it.

My Brooks layout broke a while back (sadface), so I've been cycling through silly ones for the past month or so. Finally found the code for something very similar to the Brooks one, so I made a new header and fixed it up. :) I'm pretty pleased with it.

Now, for happier thoughts! I've been stuck in the house a lot recently, so I've been writing and watching a lot of movies. The best of those movies can be summed up in this picture:



Inception, The Social Network and Zombieland were all awesome, but I think my favorite new movie I've watched was Mysterious Skin. I got there via JGL via Inception, and I CANNOT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. It's a serious mindfuck of a movie. Really good, though. Highly recommended if you can stomach some nasty subject matter.

Also... would anyone be interested in betaing an A/E Inception fic by any chance? >.>

The Caps team bonding trip this year is SO. FUCKING. HILARIOUS. They decided to take them to the FBI Training Facility (only in DC, ya'll) and the resulting footage is just... pretty much what you'd expect.
